Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
This one hits like a match to dry kindling.
Frankl doesn’t hand you a cozy, feel-good affirmation. He hands you truth—with a sting. If you want to be someone who gives light—who shows up for others, creates meaning, lives with purpose—then expect the heat. Not once, but again and again. Giving light is a cost. It’s effort. It’s pain. It’s choosing the harder path when the easier one would let you coast.
There are days I feel like I’m burning at both ends—between work, family, writing, and just trying to stay human. But then I look around. My kids are growing up knowing they’re safe and loved. Strangers email me because something I wrote helped them feel a little less alone. And I think, “Yeah, it’s worth it.”
Frankl’s words don’t promise comfort. They remind you why you’re still standing in the fire.
