Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
This one made me laugh a little—and then sigh. It’s the kind of advice that only works when you’re already halfway up the ladder. Sure, I’ll just become besties with my friend’s friends—if I had any friends to start with.
It reminds me of those networking events where everyone seems to already know each other and you’re standing in the corner nursing a drink and pretending to text. But it’s also kind of comforting, right? Because even if you don’t have a ton of close friends, chances are someone you do know is connected to someone else who might just get you.
Friendship isn’t always about grand gestures. Sometimes it’s about lingering a few seconds longer in conversation. Or tagging along to something awkward and low-stakes, like a potluck you’re not sure you were technically invited to. Sometimes the best friendships come through the side door, not the front one.
