Thought of the Day (April 14, 2025)
“Some days you just need to sit by the ocean and watch the waves come in, forget everything and breathe.”
Not every day needs to be productive. Not every moment needs to be meaningful. Some days are just meant for breathing.
I’ve had those days—where I wasn’t looking for answers, just a place to be still. The ocean is that place. No inboxes. No to-do lists. Just the rhythm of the waves, reminding you that time moves whether you do or not. There’s a comfort in watching the tide roll in and out, like it’s saying, You don’t have to carry everything all the time.
This Thought of the Day is an invitation to pause. To go find your ocean—whatever or wherever that may be. A park bench. A porch swing. The passenger seat on a long drive. We all need a place that gives us permission to stop striving and just be.

Question of the Day
What’s a game you played outside growing up that kids don’t play anymore?
For me, it was manhunt and backyard wiffleball.
Manhunt was the summer version of hide-and-seek on steroids—half sprinting, half hiding in bushes like a covert agent. The thrill of being chased through dimly lit yards, barefoot on warm pavement, was electric. That game didn’t just make you feel alive—it made you aware. You were tuned into every sound, every shadow, every rustle in the grass.
Then there was backyard wiffleball. No umpires, no scoreboards—just chalked bases and house rules that everyone agreed on before the first pitch. The wiffleball had this unpredictable spin when it left your hand—like even the ball wanted a little chaos. We’d play until the ball cracked, the light ran out, or someone’s mom called them in.
Those games didn’t need an app or an update. They were spontaneous, rule-bending, joy-filled traditions—and they’re disappearing.
This Question of the Day isn’t just about nostalgia. It’s a reminder of a time when joy was simple and collective. Maybe it’s time we revive some of those games. If not for our kids, then for ourselves.

Why This Still Matters
Your Thought of the Day is a chance to find stillness. Your Question of the Day is a chance to stir up memory and meaning. Together, they create a rhythm for reflecting on where you are—and where you came from.
The waves don’t ask questions. But we should.
