Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
This one stops me in my tracks. Because we all know the temptation—to come up with something that sounds better than, “I forgot” or “I didn’t do it.” But most excuses aren’t really about making things right. They’re about preserving ego. And bad ones? They’re just camouflage that everyone sees through anyway.
Lately, I’ve been trying to sit with the discomfort of honesty. Not every day, and not perfectly. But more and more, I choose silence or sincerity over storytelling. Because if the truth is disappointing, a fake excuse just adds insult to it.
