Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
Today’s thought hits with the quiet weight of truth: Monsters don’t create themselves. They’re made. And they rarely act alone.
Even the ones inside us.
That procrastination you keep wrestling with? It has a mastermind. That voice of doubt? It reports to someone. That grudge you can’t quite drop? It’s got a whole internal PR team convincing you it’s still useful.
We like to think our monsters are external. The boss. The system. The other guy. But often, we’re feeding them. Protecting them. Rationalizing them. Sometimes, we’re even the ones pulling the strings.
And outside of ourselves, it’s no different. No tyrant, abuser, or corrupt leader rises to power alone. They’re supported. Enabled. Paid. Elected. Praised. We’re surrounded by systems that build monsters, and too often, people who look away while it happens.
Monsters don’t live in caves.
They live in calendars. Contracts. Boardrooms. Algorithms.
They survive on silence and comfort.
So today’s thought asks: Are you confronting your monsters—or collaborating with them?
