Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
This quote has been echoing in my head since I first read it. Because let’s be honest—we tie our happiness to fragile things all the time. Jobs. Relationships. Social media likes. The security of routine. The illusion of control.
But the deeper I go into this one, the more I realize: anything that can be taken away, will be. That’s just how life works. So if our happiness depends on those things, it’s only a matter of time before it’s shaken—or shattered.
Real joy has to live somewhere deeper. Somewhere internal. Somewhere no thief, downturn, or breakup can touch. And if that sounds hard, it is. But it’s also freeing. Because when you stop letting your happiness hinge on someone else’s choices or a fragile situation, you start becoming a little unshakeable.
