There’s something delightfully simple about starting the day with a Thought of the Day and Question of the Day, it’s a chance to take life a little less seriously while also finding a spark of wisdom. Today’s Thought of the Day and Question of the Day push us to embrace the ridiculous and the humbling moments that make life real. Let’s take a closer look at how to handle both.
Thought of the Day: If you catch a pie with your face, eat it.
Life’s going to throw some pies at you. Sometimes you see them coming and sometimes you don’t. But if you’re going to get a pie in the face, you might as well taste it. That’s been my approach lately: when something messy lands square on my nose, I try to savor the sweet (or at least try not to whine about the filling in my ear).
It reminds me of an older post about embracing imperfections: “What’s the Cost of the Dream” — because half the battle is realizing that life’s messes can be moments of unexpected delight.
The pie might be blueberry, pumpkin, or some unidentifiable cafeteria concoction. But either way, don’t just wipe it off and move on—taste it. Experience it. And if it’s still warm, even better.

Question of the Day: What’s something embarrassing you’ve been caught doing?
Let’s be honest: I’ve been caught singing into a hairbrush like a pop star more times than I’d like to admit. There’s something so freeing about belting out your off-key anthems… until the bathroom door swings open and you’re face-to-face with someone holding a laundry basket.
But I also think these cringe moments are what make us relatable. Like that time I realized mid-Zoom call that I’d been talking with toothpaste foam in the corner of my mouth. Or the unforgettable moment when I was giving a “serious” presentation and accidentally shared the wrong screen—my search history about how to fix a squeaky floorboard became the star of the show.
Seriously, none of the above ever happened to me, but I have been caught in my share of embarrassing situations.(and this is a PG website)
Embarrassment is human. It’s universal. And, ironically, it’s also endearing—like in this older reflection: “The Art of Laughing at Yourself”.
So what’s something embarrassing you’ve been caught doing? I promise not to judge—unless it involves me in a pie-smeared mirror selfie.
