Every once in a while, a simple phrase like “Yay, Gravity” pulls more weight than expected. Today’s Thought of the Day and Question of the Day both explore the one force we never think about until it suddenly stops working. (Spoiler: Let’s hope it never does.)
In today’s post, I get honest about what keeps us grounded—both literally and emotionally—and imagine the chaos (and comedy) that might unfold if gravity took a vacation.

✨ Thought of the Day: Yay, Gravity
“Yay, Gravity.” It sounds like the punchline of a dad joke or the awkward chant of a science club, but honestly? It’s kind of profound.
Gravity doesn’t ask for recognition. It doesn’t care if you believe in it. It just is. Every second of every day, it’s quietly doing its job—holding everything together, keeping us from floating off into the void, and reminding us that what goes up… yeah, you know the rest.
Some days I feel like gravity: invisible, responsible, tired, and underappreciated. Other days, I feel like I’m fighting gravity—dragging myself through routines and wondering why everything feels so heavy. But then there are the moments when I realize gravity is the great equalizer. It humbles us. It pulls us back when we get too full of ourselves. And weirdly, it connects us.
As I wrote recently in ”The Earth does not belong to us.“, not everything that drags us down is bad. Sometimes, it’s the pull that keeps us from flying into the sun.

🤔 Question of the Day: How do you think people would react if gravity stopped working correctly?
Let’s be real: if gravity took a day off, we wouldn’t even make it to lunch.
I imagine the panic would start with something small—coffee floating mid-pour, your phone levitating off the nightstand like a magician’s trick. Then someone would try to open their car door and accidentally launch it into orbit. Boom: mass hysteria.
The memes would be legendary. The conspiracy theories would multiply. Half of social media would say it’s a hoax. The other half would be selling anti-anti-gravity crystals from their Etsy shops.
And yet, underneath all that chaos, I think we’d come face to face with how much we take for granted. The laws of physics, for starters. But also the predictable stuff in life—the routines, the rituals, the people who ground us.
We don’t really notice gravity until we’re falling. We don’t appreciate stability until it slips. If the floor stopped being the floor, who would you grab onto?
