Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
Lincoln wasn’t just giving a speech—he was issuing a challenge. A reminder that this whole experiment in democracy only works if we do. If we participate. If we care. If we keep showing up, even when it’s frustrating, flawed, or feels like shouting into the wind.
Some days I wonder how close we are to losing the “by the people” part. But then I remember—I’m still here. You’re still here. And that means it hasn’t perished yet.
