“If size really mattered, the whale would be the king of the jungle.” — Rickson Gracie
Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
We’re conditioned to believe that bigger means better. Bigger house. Bigger salary. Bigger influence. But Rickson Gracie reminds us that size doesn’t always equal supremacy.
The whale is enormous, powerful, and majestic—but it doesn’t rule the jungle. Why? Because it doesn’t belong there. Being the biggest doesn’t mean you’re in charge. It doesn’t even mean you’re in the right place.
This quote always pulls me back to something simple but essential: you don’t have to be the loudest, strongest, tallest, or most visible person in the room to matter. You just have to be where you belong. That’s where your strength shows up.
