Question and Thought for the Day March 19, 2025
Thought of the Day: Yesterday’s weather isn’t really up for debate.
Question of the Day: Who is your biggest nemesis?
There are a lot of things we can argue about in life—politics, sports, the best way to make a grilled cheese sandwich—but yesterday’s weather? That’s not one of them. It either rained, or it didn’t. It was hot, or it wasn’t. It’s one of those rare, absolute truths that doesn’t leave much room for debate. And yet, how often do we spend our energy fighting over things that are just as undeniable?
We argue with ourselves about the past, trying to rewrite decisions or undo regrets. We waste time battling reality instead of adjusting to it. But at the end of the day, what happened happened, and no amount of resistance will change it. Yesterday’s weather doesn’t care how you feel about it—it just was. The same goes for a lot of things in life.
That brings us to today’s question: Who is your biggest nemesis?
For some, it’s a coworker who always seems to take credit for their ideas. For others, it’s a rival in their industry, their family, or even in their own mind. Maybe it’s a bad habit, a fear, or a version of yourself you’re still trying to outrun.
Your nemesis, whoever (or whatever) it is, has a way of getting under your skin, poking at your weak spots, and making you feel just a little off balance. But here’s the thing—much like yesterday’s weather, your nemesis only has as much power as you give them. They exist, sure. But how much time are you going to spend arguing with what already is?
So, take a moment today to acknowledge your nemesis. Is it worth fighting? Is it worth the mental real estate you’re giving it? Or is it just another storm that’s already passed, no longer worth your energy?
Drop a comment: Who (or what) is your biggest nemesis? And more importantly—are they even worth the fight?
