Welcome. I’m Ken. I’m the proprietor here at Low Two Pair, and I’m glad you’re here.
You might be wondering about the name.

If you play poker, you already know it’s not the hand you hope for. Low two pair doesn’t win much unless you play it carefully. Patiently. With attention.
Back during our weekend poker nights with friends, I didn’t care much about winning. I just wanted to stay in the game. So I kept playing those bad hands. Over time, the nickname stuck.
Low Two Pair.
It was all good fun at the table, but something about that phrase stayed with me long after the cards were put away.
Because life, it turns out, deals a lot of low two pairs.
I’ve wrestled with depression. Alcoholism. And even success.
For that reason, Low Two Pair became more than a nickname. It became a reminder.
Play the hand you’re dealt. One hand at a time.
Out of those struggles came a quiet urge to share a little light. So on January 13, 2020, just before everything changed, I posted my first Question of the Day. A few months later, I added a Thought of the Day.
This is it. I’ve been doing it every day since.
There are now more than 2,200 questions and just as many thoughts collected here. Over four thousand small invitations to pause, notice, reflect, or simply sit with something for a moment.
That’s what this place is.

I built it so you could come in, take a breath, and join the conversation if you want. I still post a Question and a Thought each day, and I write a little about them here. It helps me stay grounded. It helps me pay attention.
The questions aren’t always serious. Some are playful. Some might make you stop and say, “Wait… what?”
The thoughts are the same way. Sometimes light. Sometimes heavy. Often both. Because that’s how life tends to show up.
You’re welcome here anytime. Browse the archive. Linger as long as you need. And if it helps, I can even send you a note each morning after I post.
Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you come back again soon.
