We’re back with today’s Thought of the Day and Question of the Day, and oh boy—this one’s a little existential and a little unhinged. Just the way I like it. We’re talking about the future (the one that doesn’t care) and also about tasering someone you know. Because why not balance cosmic indifference with a little harmless hypothetical violence?
Let’s unpack the deeper meaning behind today’s Thought of the Day and Question of the Day, and I promise—at least one of these reflections will make you laugh, sigh, or reevaluate your friend group.
Thought of the Day: The Future Doesn’t Care
The future doesn’t care if I drink too much coffee today. It doesn’t care that I forgot my kid’s towel for camp (again). The future doesn’t even flinch when we’re late on a deadline, miss a workout, or ghost a text we meant to reply to a week ago.
Because the truth is, the future isn’t sitting there judging us. It’s not some moody cousin who holds grudges. It’s just time. Unfolding. No opinions, no attachments, no favorites.
And while that might sound bleak, it’s actually pretty freeing. If the future doesn’t care, then maybe we can stop trying to impress it. Maybe we focus more on what matters now—what we can control—like showing up, being kind, laughing more, and choosing not to stress about things we can’t predict.
Or as I wrote in “Life Finds a Way”, there’s something quietly heroic about simply putting one foot in front of the other, especially when the future offers no applause.

Question of the Day: You have the chance to taser one person you know. Who do you choose and why?
My honest answer? I only get to choose one?
This question might sound like it’s coming from a slightly chaotic place—and it is—but it’s also a weirdly cathartic thought experiment. We all have someone in our lives who has cut the line too many times (literally or figuratively), someone who never uses their turn signal, someone who replies-all with “thanks.”
And sure, violence is never the answer. But tasering? It’s cartoonish. It’s harmless (mostly). It’s symbolic. It’s the “control-alt-delete” of interpersonal reset buttons.
Who would I choose? Well, let’s just say they definitely don’t read this blog.
This kind of absurd question lets us safely vent. It’s like asking what monster you’d bring to life—more about revealing what bugs us than about any real action. And if your answer shifts daily, welcome to the human experience.
