Christmas is here. It’s the time of year when we all spend more than we should on gifts others don’t need to prove how much we love and care.
Do you do this? Do you judge others by the gifts they give you? Do you give without the expectation of a gift in return?
I don’t want to be the person who gives to get. I want to be the person who, without exception, gives with all my heart and all I have. The person who gives because I can give.
Why 25 Days of Joy?
I conceived of #25daysofJoy with the express purpose of creating something and giving people some reason to smile. (I know not all the posts were winners)
It’s my gift to you. Just like underwear and socks, though, not everyone is going to appreciate it. And I’m ok with that. But know that it comes from my heart and I want to share some joy in a world where people are trying to foster anger and hatred.
I plan to continue to share positive messages with the world because I know that ideas like this can begin small (perhaps not every single day but weekly). Given patience, time, and cultivation, just like a farmer tending a crop, ideas will spread, and grow and create abundance.
You can’t reap what you don’t sow. And you can’t gift something you don’t have. I hope that I have given you some sort of joy these past few weeks. If I have, I ask you, share it.
Share something that gives you joy and happiness with those around you. The more you share, the more you get in return. I get it now. I understand why Ebenezer Scrooge was better than his word. His excitement and joy shared came back to him 10 fold.
There’s no time like the present. If you’re into New Year’s resolutions, maybe make one to keep the joy of the holiday season with you all year round and spread it like pollen on the wind.
