I’m a solid 73°.
Not 72. Not 74. Seventy-three degrees. It’s the sweet spot between “Why am I sweating?” and “Why am I wrapped in a blanket in July?”
But sometimes questions like this tell us more than we expect. Comfort is personal. Some people thrive in tundra conditions (I know someone who keeps theirs at 64° year-round—what are you training for, a polar expedition?) while others treat their homes like greenhouses and act surprised when the electric bill could fund a moon landing.
This isn’t just about temperature—it’s about control, energy, routine, and sometimes even power dynamics. Whose hand is on the dial says a lot.
