October 2, 2025
Forget the pumpkin spice, I’m not here for the seasonal latte wars. October is my favorite month, and not because Starbucks rolls out a drink that tastes like a melted Yankee Candle.
For me, it starts with the leaves. Every year they explode into color like nature’s final firework show before winter. Walking outside feels like stepping into a painting, even if I’m just carrying the trash to the curb.
I also love the earlier sunsets. That might sound weird, shorter days usually get blamed for gloominess, but I find them comforting. The world dims a little earlier, giving us permission to slow down, light a fire, and lean into the cozy. It’s like built-in family time.
And then there’s my anniversary. That day in October is like an anchor in the middle of all this seasonal change. The leaves fall, the air gets crisp, and yet here’s this celebration of something that only grows stronger. It reminds me that change and stability don’t have to be opposites, they can happen together.
So while pumpkin spice has its fan club, my October looks like crunchy leaves underfoot, glowing fireplaces, and a quiet moment to say, “This is the good stuff.”
