What do you consider spectacular weather?
There’s a special kind of betrayal that happens when someone tells you “Today’s a beautiful day!” and it’s 88 degrees with 90% humidity. That’s not beautiful. That’s soup. That’s a crime against t-shirts.
Now, spectacular weather? That’s personal.
For me, it’s all about the 60s. Low humidity, light breeze—perfect for walking, thinking, or just sitting outside pretending I’m going to pull weeds but actually doing nothing productive at all.
I’ll also admit to being a sucker for a warm summer rain. The kind where the windows fog up, the lights dim just a little, and the sound on the glass reminds you of being a kid and watching storms with your face pressed against the screen door.
But the gold medal winner in the Weather Olympics? A crisp day in the low 50s, mid-October, where the leaves are crunchy underfoot and the air smells like fireplaces and possibility. The kind of day where you reach for a hoodie without even thinking about it. That’s chef’s kiss weather.
We all have our version. Maybe yours is a snowstorm, or that first spring breeze that smells like mud and fresh starts. Weather doesn’t just set the scene—it sets the tone.
