Question and Thought for the Day March 4, 2025
Question of the Day: What is the oddest way youâve injured yourself?
Thought of the Day: Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know. â Pema Chödrön
Life has a way of making sure we learn the lessons we needâwhether we want to or not. Ignore them, fight them, pretend they donât exist⊠doesnât matter. Theyâll just keep showing up in different ways, sometimes disguised as opportunities, sometimes as frustrations, and sometimes as a dryer door to the forehead.
Yeah, thatâs right. I almost gave myself a concussion by hitting my head on the dryer door. Iâd like to say I was doing something important or heroic, but noâI just stood up too fast, forgot the door was open, and WHAM. Instant regret. Stars. A very real debate about whether I should Google âsigns of a mild concussion.â
And you know what? It wasnât even the first time Iâd done it. Which brings me back to todayâs thought:
âNothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.â â Pema Chödrön
So what was the lesson? Maybe âpay attention to your surroundings.â Maybe âslow down.â Maybe just âdonât be an idiot.â Either way, life has a funny way of repeating itself when we refuse to learn.
Which leads me to todayâs question:
Whatâs the Oddest Way Youâve Injured Yourself?
Because letâs be honest, weâve all had at least one ridiculous injury. The kind where, as soon as it happens, you just know youâll be telling the story for years.
Maybe you tripped while trying to impress someone. Maybe you got a black eye from a rogue cabinet door. Maybe you, too, have battled a household appliance and lost.
The good news? At least weâre learning something along the way. Or, at the very least, providing quality entertainment.
So, tell meâwhatâs your strangest injury? Letâs compare battle scars.
And if life keeps hitting you over the head (literally or figuratively), maybe itâs time to ask yourself: What lesson am I supposed to be learning here?
Because until you do, itâs not going anywhere.
