Terror. Although, I have felt the emotion, I had to look up the definition of the word to make sure I understood it. The first thing listed on the Merriam-webster website said, a state of intense fear. So I looked up the word fear: an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger.
What is it that causes a person’s fear? And why is one person’s fear another person’s favorite. Why is it that some people seem fearless while others cower at a gentle breeze?
The reason, fear is a learned response. At some point in distant past, human beings learned that the large angry cat was trying to eat them, so out of self preservation, they learned to be afraid of things that could harm them.
Today, most of us don’t need to worry about being eating by a wild animal, yet fear persists.
Fear is all in our heads.
