Welcome back to our daily reflection where I share a “Thought of the Day and Question of the Day” to stir your mind and maybe your coffee. Today, we’re talking about the quiet strength that shows up before the chaos hits, and the footage of our lives that we’re not always sure we’d want to watch again. Let’s dive in.

Thought of the Day: Expect the Storm, Train for the Calm
I’ve always believed that life is an unpredictable mix of storms and calm. The trick is to prepare for both. We spend so much of our lives bracing for what might go wrong that we forget to train for the steady waters when everything goes right.
When the wind dies down and the waves are gentle, it’s easy to drift and forget the discipline we practiced. I’ve found that the real test of character isn’t just in the storm, it’s in how we handle the quiet moments after. Do we get complacent? Or do we keep showing up, steady and sure, no matter how calm the sea?
Nothing brews a good storm like deserving your enemies. And if you want another one check out this post about why wet socks are the worst. Both are worth a read if you’re feeling a little lost in the calm.

Question of the Day: If someone watched you live the last 24 hours on camera, would you be proud of that footage?
Oof, this one hits a little close to home. Because if I’m being honest, yesterday’s highlight reel would be… well, let’s just say it would include a lot of me staring at a computer screen, scrolling on my phone, and trying to figure out how to microwave leftovers without turning them into rubber.
But there’s something liberating about this question. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about noticing the patterns we live in. If you’re brave enough to answer this honestly, you might find a few small changes that make today’s footage worth watching tomorrow.
I asked a similar question a while back about what part of your life is circling the drain the fastest. And if you’re feeling reflective, here’s a post feeling lonely when you’re alone.
