It’s funny how the smallest things can stop you in your tracks. Most of the time, we move through our days half-aware, eyes on screens, brains juggling tabs, hearts somewhere between caffeine and exhaustion. But every once in a while, something sneaks in and reminds you that the world still has a pulse.
This week, for me, it was watching my daughter look at herself in her Halloween costume. She twirled in front of the mirror, studying herself like she’d just met a superhero, and realizing that hero was her. That look, that wonder, that tiny explosion of “wow”… that’s magic.
The truth is, magic isn’t rare. It’s just quiet. It hides in everyday moments, the way sunlight hits your kitchen counter, the smell of rain, the sound of a baby belly-laughing, the warmth of someone’s hand when they think you’re not paying attention. You don’t have to chase it; you just have to notice.
And when you do, everything shifts a little. Life feels less like a checklist and more like a story again. You remember you’re not just surviving the day, you’re living it.
So yeah, this week had its share of noise, stress, and caffeine-fueled chaos. But that one small moment—my daughter, her costume, her joy—made the whole week worth it. That’s how magic works. It only needs a second to remind you it’s still here.
