Most people would choose to meet in the light, bright café, warm mug in hand, daylight streaming through the windows. But the alley changes everything. There’s no music to soften the edges, no crowd to hide behind, no small talk to delay the real conversation.
So who would I meet there? Probably not someone easy. Not someone I could chit-chat with over lattes. I’d want to meet someone where the stakes are high. Someone I’ve avoided for too long. Someone who demands honesty.
The alley strips away the masks. It’s where you can’t pretend, can’t escape, can’t laugh it off. It’s raw. Which makes me think the better question isn’t just who I’d meet, but why I’d need the shadows instead of the sunlight.
