Seneca’s reminder is a gut check: what sets us off says more about us than what we claim to value. I like to think of myself as patient and even-keeled, but when I lose my cool because I can’t find the TV remote while shrugging off bigger problems in the world, it reveals my real priorities.
The truth is, anger is a mirror. What makes us snap shows us where our values, insecurities, and frustrations live. It’s not fun to look at—but it’s honest. And sometimes that honesty is exactly what we need.
