Welcome to today’s Thought of the Day and Question of the Day, where we wrestle with big questions, small snacks, and the occasional existential car chase. In this post, I’m unpacking the feeling that life is either slipping through my fingers or flooring it over my back—and asking you which you need more of: time, energy, or snacks (I vote yes to all three). Let’s take a thoughtful, honest, and slightly snack-hungry look at what’s weighing on our minds.
Thought of the Day:
“I’m not quite sure if life is passing me by or trying to run me over.”
Some days feel like a peaceful stroll. Others feel like Frogger.
Lately, it’s been more highway mayhem than Sunday walk. I blink and it’s 10 p.m., the laundry’s still on the floor, the coffee never got made, and my “quick scroll” on Instagram turned into an accidental documentary binge. It’s not just that time is flying—it’s that it’s driving a tank and I’m stuck in the middle of the road with a broken umbrella and a to-do list for armor.
There’s a tension between living intentionally and surviving instinctively. Between carving out moments of reflection and trying not to get trampled by the calendar. And that’s why this daily practice matters—to pause, take a breath, and ask: Am I walking through life? Or being dragged behind it?
If you’ve ever felt the same way, you might enjoy this post on what part of your life is circling the drain.
Sometimes, just acknowledging the chaos is its own kind of calm.

Question of the Day:
What do you wish you had more of: time, energy, or snacks?
In that order—time, then energy, then snacks.
Time is the golden goose. Give me more of it, and maybe I can find more energy, and possibly make more snacks. But lately, it’s like all three are playing hide-and-seek and I forgot to count to ten.
I wish I had more time to think deeply, to write slowly, to play with my kids without checking the clock. I wish I had more energy to match their energy—to match my own ambitions. And snacks? I mean… always. Snacks are fuel, comfort, and sometimes bribery in toddler negotiations.
This question reveals more than we expect. Do we crave time because we feel behind? Energy because we feel depleted? Snacks because… okay, snacks are universal. But the answer we choose hints at what part of ourselves is running on empty.
Curious how other people think through questions like this? You might like this reflection on the kindest thing you can do for someone or this one about what people misunderstand about you. The answers can surprise you.
Your Turn
So… are you chasing time, searching for energy, or just hoping for a granola bar to appear in your pocket? Leave a comment and let me know. And if you haven’t yet, join the daily email where we take a minute each day to think, reflect, and maybe even laugh at ourselves.
Because life will try to run us over—but we don’t have to let it.
