Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
This one grabbed me by the collar.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent too many years trying to do things the “right” way—the responsible way, the efficient way, the way that gets the most applause with the least resistance. But at some point, I realized I was chasing someone else’s idea of success.
Dostoyevsky reminds us that messing up while being fully ourselves is a kind of spiritual success. There’s dignity in doing it your way, even if it turns into a magnificent, flaming disaster.
So here’s your permission slip: make your weird choices. Build something that might not make sense to everyone. Get it wrong. Just make sure it’s your version of wrong. You’ll be surprised how right that ends up feeling.
