“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W.B. Yeats
Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
Magic isn’t something we have to chase. It’s already here, waiting, quietly, for us to slow down and actually notice it. Not the big, sparkly, movie-style magic. I mean the subtle stuff: the way morning light hits your coffee cup just right. The rhythm of your child’s breath when they’ve finally fallen asleep. The hush of the world when everyone else is still inside.
Lately, I’ve realized I miss a lot of that quiet magic because my brain is juggling ten tabs at once. I’m trying to notice more. Listen better. Smell the air before a summer storm. Spot the sparkle in a mundane moment. It’s not always easy, but Yeats reminds me that the world is patient. The magic hasn’t gone anywhere—it’s just waiting for me to show up.
