“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” — Jacques Cousteau
Sometimes a few words are enough to shift the way we see the day.
There’s a reason people sit and stare at the ocean like it’s giving a TED Talk. It’s not just waves and salt—it’s mystery and movement and something far older than we are. Jacques Cousteau spent his life under the spell of the sea, and I get it. Even if I prefer to admire from the beach with a good book and a low risk of jellyfish.
The sea can terrify and inspire in the same breath. It holds things we can’t control and don’t fully understand—like the future, or toddlers with permanent markers. But it also teaches us to be small and curious and humble. And sometimes, just sometimes, it dares us to wade in anyway.
