How do you know when it’s time to slow down before you burn out?
For me, it’s when my patience dips below a 3.
If your chewing starts to sound like construction noise, or I want to throw your pen across the room because you’re clicking it too much… it’s time.
But sometimes questions like this tell us more than we expect.
It’s not just about burnout—it’s about the tiny signals we often ignore. Like the fact that I haven’t laughed in a few days. Or that I’m responding to “How are you?” with “Busy.” Every. Single. Time.
Slowing down doesn’t mean stopping completely. Sometimes it just means five minutes outside. Or choosing not to reply to one more email. Or, yes, lying in the grass and not feeling guilty about it. (See today’s Thought of the Day for that one—it’s a good one.)
