Ever catch yourself staring out the window like a Disney princess, humming for some passing prince or helpful woodland creature to solve your mess? Today’s Thought of the Day and Question of the Day team up to call out that very habit and nudge us toward grabbing our own metaphorical brooms.
Thought of the Day
A slave is one who waits for someone to come and free him. — Ezra Pound
Pound doesn’t mince words. He reminds us that the chains we complain about can be self-inflicted the moment we decide “someone else will handle it.”
I used to treat my inbox like a villain in a low-budget horror flick. I hid, hoping brave tech-support knights would ride in and slay the beast. Spoiler: they never showed. The day I finally rolled up my sleeves, scheduled time, and tackled it myself, the chains jingled off. It was icky. It was liberating. And it took way less time than all that worry.

Question of the Day
What’s one thing you’ve been putting off because you’re secretly hoping someone else will deal with it?
Confession: For weeks, I’ve been putting off going to the storage unit to look for summer clothes, silently hoping extra shorts for my daughter would magically appear in her dresser drawer. Sadly they have not, and after three 95 degree plus days this week, I think I need to go this weekend.
Your turn. Maybe it’s that awkward conversation with a coworker, the yearly doctor’s appointment, or finally learning how to use the fancy DSLR gathering dust. Pick one, own it, and free yourself.
