Some days the Thought of the Day and Question of the Day hit you in the gut, whisper in your ear, or give you a gentle nudge forward. Today might be all three. In this post, I’m reflecting on the quiet, gritty side of resurrection—and the little things that somehow make everything feel okay again. Let’s dive into what it really means to come back to life… even if it’s not quite Easter-level miraculous.

🧠 Thought of the Day:
“Resurrection doesn’t always look like a miracle. Sometimes it looks like trying again.”
When we hear “resurrection,” we tend to think grand, dramatic, movie-worthy returns from the dead. But in real life, resurrection is quieter. It’s the parent waking up early for one more try at patience. It’s the job seeker sending out the 39th résumé. It’s you—or me—dragging ourselves out of bed to try again even though yesterday didn’t go great.
Trying again doesn’t look like a miracle, but it is one.
If you’re someone who’s rebuilding—after burnout, a breakup, a breakdown, or even just a bad Tuesday—then today’s thought is for you. That slow, unglamorous comeback? That’s a resurrection story, too.
I wrote something similar back in “Now Is When It Counts” where I unpacked the power of choosing to show up. Also, “You Hear the Rain When You’re Still Enough to Listen for It” touches on what happens when we slow down enough to feel the shift—when we notice we’re not where we were.
Trying again is sacred. Trying again is strength. And it’s always enough.

🌱 Question of the Day:
“What’s a simple pleasure that always makes you feel alive?”
I love this question because it reminds me that we don’t need a big win to feel awake in the world. Sometimes all it takes is:
- Biting into a perfectly crisp apple.
- A text from an old friend out of nowhere.
- The way the sky looks just before a storm.
- That first sip of coffee when the kids are still asleep.
For me? It’s just sitting and observing and listening to the unadulterated sounds of nature. Birds chirping, the wind blowing through the trees, or a babbling brook meandering through the forest. There’s something primal about it—almost like the earth is reminding me to slow down and appreciate the world.
Feeling alive doesn’t have to be loud. It can be as soft as a breeze or as small as a smile.
This reminds me of the Question from a few days back—what we look forward to in spring. These little pleasures stack up. They carry us through. They tether us to joy.
So… what’s yours?
