Question and Thought for the Day January 31, 2025
Thought of the Day:Even something that’s not moving is changing.
You can sit perfectly still, not a muscle twitching, and yet—change is happening. Cells are regenerating. Thoughts are shifting. The world around you is adjusting in microscopic ways that you don’t notice until one day, everything feels different.
A mountain might appear unshakable, but time and wind will wear it down. A house left untouched doesn’t stay the same—it gathers dust, the paint fades, the floor creaks a little louder. Stillness isn’t the absence of change; it’s just change on a different timeline.
We forget this when we feel stuck. We think if we’re not actively moving forward, we’re falling behind. But even when we’re sitting in uncertainty, in those moments where we don’t know what’s next, we’re changing. We’re shifting internally, even if it’s not visible from the outside.
The trick is to recognize that change is happening whether you’re controlling it or not. The question is: do you want to steer it, or just let it happen to you?

Speaking of Things That Change Over Time…
Question of the Day: How do you feel about peanut butter?
Some people are die-hard peanut butter lovers. They can eat it by the spoonful, straight from the jar, like a guilty pleasure they’ll never apologize for. Others tolerate it only in precise circumstances—on toast, in a PB&J, or maybe hidden inside a Reese’s cup. Then there are those who detest it, who think peanut butter is an abomination of texture and stickiness, clinging to the roof of your mouth like a desperate ex.
Here’s a thought: how you feel about peanut butter might say something about your personality. Are you a crunchy peanut butter person, ready to embrace life’s rough edges? Or do you prefer creamy, keeping things smooth and predictable? Maybe you’re someone who once loved it, but one bad experience turned you against it forever.
And if your peanut butter preferences can change over time, maybe other things can too.
Maybe the way you feel about yourself, your work, your relationships, your future—maybe that can shift, even when you’re standing still.
Even something that’s not moving is changing.
