Question of the Day
Whatâs something obvious that took you way too long to notice?
Thought of the Day
Do you know what I hate about the obvious? Missing it.
The Doctor
The obvious has a funny way of hiding in plain sight. Itâs right there, staring you in the face, waving a giant neon sign. And yet, somehow, you donât see itâuntil you do. Then it hits you like a brick wall, leaving you wondering, How did I not notice this sooner?
Weâve all had moments like this. For me, itâs usually something so simple that I laugh at myself for missing it. A small but glaring oversight, like looking for my glasses only to realize theyâve been on my head the whole time. Or spending five minutes searching for my phone⊠while using it as a flashlight to look. Itâs humbling, isnât it?
But sometimes, the things we miss arenât so trivial. Theyâre truths about our lives, relationships, or even ourselves. Maybe itâs a toxic dynamic weâve been tolerating for years, an opportunity weâve overlooked, or a habit thatâs been quietly sabotaging our growth. The obvious isnât always comfortable, but itâs always important.

Why do we miss the obvious? Maybe itâs because weâre too close to it. Itâs like standing inches away from a painting in a museumâyou canât see the whole picture until you take a step back. Or maybe itâs because weâre busy overcomplicating things, thinking the answer has to be hidden somewhere deeper, more profound. Spoiler: it rarely is.
Recognizing the obvious takes a moment of pause. Itâs about giving yourself the space to step back, see the bigger picture, and laugh at the absurdity of it all. Thatâs part of being humanâmissing the forest for the trees, then marveling at how beautiful the forest is once you finally see it.
So hereâs my question to you: Whatâs something obvious that took you way too long to notice? Was it an everyday moment like mine, or was it something bigger that changed your perspective? Whatever it is, Iâd love to hear it.
Because if thereâs one thing Iâve learned, itâs that sharing these âahaâ moments helps us all see a little more clearly.
